Marina Beach Development, Mumbai
A marina is a sheltered harbour designed primarily for yachts and other small crafts. A facility required for safe anchorage and parking of small speed boats, pleasure crafts and yachts.
A Marina in Mumbai is essential, as in the absence of such a facility the yachts and pleasure boats have to be parked in open sea, anchored outside Gateway of India. Mumbai has more than 200 registered pleasure boats necessitating Marina and its’ allied facilities.
The project’s purpose is to provide a Marina for the city of Mumbai and simultaneously create a landmark/icon with the best in class sustainable infrastructure. The scope includes financial, technical feasibility and implementation and operation and maintenance strategy.
In order to develop a state of the art facility, Mumbai Port Trust appointed ACQUATECN (Italy) in JV with Darashaw for the Detailed Project Report & Viability Analysis for Marina at Princess Dock.
